Exploring Family-Friendly Eagle, ID

Eagle, Idaho: Come Explore and Experience This Family-Friendly City

Eagle, Idaho is an upscale growing community with beautiful, well-designed neighborhoods, mid-to-high-end homes, quality schools, and attractive high-end retail and commercial developments. Eagle provides families the comforts of living in a small city with easy access to a variety of other large city amenities located in the surrounding areas of Meridian and Boise, Idaho. Although Eagle is growing it’s managed to maintain its small-town charm where you’ll find the people who live there to be down to earth and very friendly.

Parks and Activities

Eagle is known for its family-friendly parks. The city’s largest parks are Merrill Park and Gruber Park where you will find volleyball, play areas for kids, water features, access to wetlands and the Boise River. Did you know that Eagle’s Arboretum Park displays various plantings including 37 varieties of trees, native plants, and a variety of roses, ground covers, and perennials?

Also, Eagle is home to the Treasure Valley’s only State Park, Eagle Island State Park. This 545 acre day-use park features a popular swimming beach, a grassy picnic area, a waterslide and more than five miles of trails for those looking for a place to ride horses, hike, walk your dog, or play disc golf.

Recreation and Fun

Eagle Sports Complex. This is an 85-acre sports complex that has a skate park, bike trails, and a bicycle motocross course (BMX).

Eagle Tennis Club. The club has 12 indoor, climate-controlled courts. The facility is 90,000 square feet and offers a truly unique experience.

Zip Eagle. Eagle Island State Park offers a zip line course, which consists of six zip lines and features one of the state’s first quick jumps, which is a parachute simulated leap off of a 60-foot tower.

Grinkers. Have a blast with your family at this classic video arcade with machines from the 80s and 90s.

Eagles Fun Days. This is a family-friendly festival that lasts a couple of days and is Eagle’s biggest event of the year. There is plenty of fun to be had for the whole family.

Farmers Market and Farms

The Eagle Saturday Market is a community market located in the heart of downtown Eagle, Idaho in Heritage Park. Here you’ll find an array of arts and crafts along with local produce, herbs and flowers, woodwork, specialty food items, and freshly prepared food. Every Saturday the park comes alive with the melodious sounds of local musicians and community members coming together to support local micro-producers. The market runs May 4 through Oct. 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Shopping and Food

It’s fun to stroll through downtown Eagle. The area features old street lamps, meandering sidewalks and boutique style shops and restaurants. If you are looking to try a new place to eat consider Wild West Bakery and Espresso, Rembrandts, Bodacious Pig Barbecue, Bella Aquila, Le Coq d'Or, Bacquet's Restaurant, The Stuffed Olive, Schnitzel Garten, and Davinci's.

As you can see, Eagle is a very family friendly city that is also known for its great schools.  There is something here for everyone to enjoy.
